Daniel Averbach

Dan joined Sherrard Kuzz LLP as a first-year summer student in 2020, returned for his second summer in 2021, and will article with the firm in 2022-2023. He is a Juris Doctor candidate at Queen’s University where he is a caseworker for Queen’s Legal Aid, Co-Senior Editor of the Canadian Labour and Employment Law Journal, and competed in a labour and employment moot. Dan also works as a teaching assistant for the Queen’s Certificate in Law program, where he teaches Introduction to Canadian Law. In his first year of law school, Dan earned the McDougall-Watson Memorial Award.

Prior to law school, Dan completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Law and Society from York University. During undergrad, Dan served as the Director of Finance for the Law and Society Student Association and worked for three years as a licensed insurance advisor and underwriting assistant.

In his spare time, Dan likes to keep active by running, playing golf and tennis, and snowboarding.
